We worked together with the Spanish patient organization NET España and local scientific society Grupo Español en Tumores Neuroendocrinos y Endocrinos (GETNE) on a podcast series to raise awareness of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), a group of uncommon tumors that develop in the cells of the neuroendocrine system throughout the body.

As well as raising awareness of NETs, the co-created podcast also helped connect people living with NETs, experts and healthcare professionals in Spain, enabling them to share knowledge and experiences with each other.

Between November 2020 and September 2021, ten monthly episodes were developed, each featuring insightful conversations between people living with NETs and healthcare professionals, about their thoughts, questions, and concerns on different aspects of living with the condition. The episodes were then broadcasted on a dedicated website (www.entretnes.com), resulting in more than 2,060 downloads and listens across Spain and over 400 in other Spanish-speaking countries, including Argentina, Columbia, Chile and Peru.

The project demonstrates the importance of working together with the patient community in order to deliver solutions that have the biggest impact. Blanca Guarás, President of NET España said, “I want to highlight the importance of being on this journey together with a common goal. Patients should not feel alone, that is why the opportunity of an active participation of NET España in the EntreTNEs project is already an achievement in itself. We, as patients, have managed to amplify our voice, and make known our concerns… but also our hopes for improving both early diagnosis and comprehensive care for patients with NETs.”

We worked together with the Spanish patient organization NET España and local scientific society Grupo Español en Tumores Neuroendocrinos y

[137

post-36375","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-oncology","entry
