As part of the festivities, more than 115 Ipsen employees took to<br>the community for a Day of Service, supporting and volunteering for nine local charities and nonprofit organizations.<br>\u201cAt Ipsen, our dedicated employees strive every day to help improve the lives of the patients we<br>serve. We\u2019re honored and thankful for their commitment to making a difference, and to having a<br>positive impact on the communities in which we live and work,\u201d said Richard Paulson, CEO of Ipsen<br>North America. \u201cToday is about more than marking the opening of our new Kendall Square<br>headquarters \u2013 it\u2019s about teamwork and giving back, and we\u2019re proud to be here to participate.\u201d<br>Ipsen\u2019s Day of Service was coordinated with the help of Life Science Cares, an organization<br>dedicated to eliminating poverty in the greater Boston area. Activities ranged from making updates<br>and repairs to old buildings to cooking meals for families in need, and sorting and packaging<br>clothing donations to prepare them for distribution. Participating organizations included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program (BHCHP)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cambridge and Somerville Programs for Addiction Recovery (CASPAR)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cradles to Crayons Brighton<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dimock Center Roxbury<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VA Boston Fisher House<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breakthrough Greater Boston<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Message of Hope Foundation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More Than Words Waltham<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Year Up Greater Boston<br><br>Ipsen announced the relocation of its North American headquarters from Basking Ridge, NJ to<br>Cambridge in June 2018. With the move, the company co-located its Commercial business with its<br>Research &amp; Development, Manufacturing, and Global External Innovation and Partnering teams<br>already based in Kendall Square \u2013 creating a fully integrated biopharmaceutical business in the<br>United States. There are currently more than 290 employees in Kendall Square, with continued<br>growth planned with the addition of more than 50 roles in 2019.<br>\u201cThis strategic move allows Ipsen to further capitalize on \u2013 and, importantly, invest in \u2013 the area\u2019s<br>robust biotech ecosystem to support our company\u2019s accelerated growth, as well as leverage key<br>industry partnerships and major academic prowess in the area,\u201d added Paulson. \u201cIt also provides<br>access to top talent, and an opportunity to raise our profile and visibility as an employer of choice.\u201d<br>Today\u2019s grand opening includes celebration of Ipsen\u2019s new 50,000-square-foot headquarters at One<br>Main Street and the company\u2019s recently renovated 46,000-square-foot facility at 650 East Kendall<br>Street, home of Ipsen\u2019s R&amp;D and Global External Innovation and Partnering teams, as well as the<br>Ipsen Innovation Center \u2013 Biolabs, a 15,000-square-foot life science co-working facility dedicated to<br>supporting entrepreneurs and startup companies developing the next generation of therapeutics<br>for patients.
