Ipsen Sponsors Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Purplestride Walk
Cambridge, Massachusetts (April 19th, 2022)—Ipsen supports Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) as a national sponsor of the organization’s PanCAN PurpleStride, their event to end pancreatic cancer. On April 30, 60 communities across the country will take steps to raise awareness and funding for pancreatic cancer services.
“Ipsen started its work in North America several years ago with a focus on hard-to-treat cancers,” said Stewart Campbell, President, Ipsen North America. “In our fifth year as a PanCAN supporter, we continue our focus on people living with serious diseases with devastating consequences—and we are committed to achieving meaningful progress in cancer treatment.”
With an overall five-year survival rate of just 11 percent, pancreatic cancer is currently the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S. and is increasing, on course to being the second leading cause by 2030. This year, more than 62,000 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the U.S., and nearly 50,000 will die from the disease.1 Public awareness and research funding remains critical.
As the Premier Sponsor of PurpleStride Boston, several Ipsen colleagues will participate, with others joining walks in their local communities.
